Bonnie Barlow, PhD

Sometimes people feel they are stuck in a rut or have had such a big life transition that they don’t know how to grow to meet their new needs. You’re not alone. Many people throughout the world have gone through similar life transitions, and their journeys are recorded in our stories and legends. You, too, are living your own story. If you would like help to move your story into action, Jungian-informed psychodynamic psychotherapy can develop motivation and energy in you. It integrates the theory of Carl Jung and uses creative imagination to help people develop their potential.

I also specialize in working with adults with high-functioning autism/Asperger’s. We use your creative imagination and expressive arts to explore and work with mental suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety or other mental health issues such as autism. If you enjoy using your imagination in creative ways, this therapy might be right for you.

Additionally, I can integrate your spiritual/religious beliefs into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Research shows that meaning and deeply held beliefs can help clients progress in their therapy goals and provide relief from psychological suffering. I use many techniques that emphasize clients’ strengths and preferences.
