Sandra Ackerman, Psy.D

I completed my baccalaureate degree in psychology at Saint Anselm College, my master’s degree in counseling psychology at Notre Dame College, and my doctorate in counseling and school psychology at Rivier University.

I have a strong background in women’s health and treat a broad array of mental health disorders (i.e., autism, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse trauma) in adolescent and adult females using an integrative model that maximizes the benefits of many different types of evidence-based therapies (i.e., CBT, DBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Positive Psychology).  My clinical research centered on female sexual dysfunction (Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder and Genito-pelvic pain disorder) and I have a clinical interest in the treatment of these challenges using an MBCT protocol that was researched and published in leading sexual health journals.
